The bill (Reg. No.7003) sets legal, economic, social and organizational principles of the organic agriculture, and fixes the requirements for cultivation, production, processing, certification, marking, transportation, reservation and sale of the organic production and materials.
According to the People´s Deputies, it is necessary to prohibit the use of GMO and their derivatives in organic production, as well as goods made with the use of GMO (as food products, forage, technological additives, preparation for plants protection and soil improvement, fertilizers, seeds, vegetative planting stock, microorganisms and animals), and the use of ionizing radiation for the processing of organic food products, forage or materials used in organic food stuffs or forages.
The People´s Deputies are convinced that adoption of the bill will increase the volume of production of competitive agricultural products, facilitate access of the quality food stuffs into the domestic market, and arrange the conditions for healthy life style.
